MARSHFIELD – Marshfield swept the three double matches and added a three-set win in singles to defeat Wisconsin Rapids 5-2 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis match Tuesday at Boson Courts.
The Tigers are now 2-1 in the Valley dual meet schedule and play at Merrill on Thursday.
Marshfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Serchen won a three-set match over Megan Hughes and Tessa Arendt 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, to lead the way for the Tigers.
Jenny Madden and Martha Kupfer at No. 2 and Autumn Packard and Krishna Patel at No. 3 doubles won in straight sets for Marshfield.
Ashley Schultz won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Cassie Strebe beat Lexie Castle 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, at No. 4 singles to provide Marshfield with its other two wins.
