Spa Eliana: A hidden pearl on McMillan

MARSHFIELD — In November 2014 Billie Jo Brown launched Kosmetikos, her very own line of skin care products formulated using extracts from birch trees. The products are sold from her McMillan Street location, commonly known as Spa Eliana, a hidden oasis just outside of Marshfield.
When asked if she has been busy, Brown replied laughingly, “Yeah.” She averages six to 10 appointments per day and has been doing so for almost five years.
“She is always so good at taking the time to explain things. She is very knowledgeable and thorough,” said Karen Eckes, a customer of five years and resident of Marshfield. Eckes typically visits for a facial but also recommends the massages, “She’s also a very good massage therapist.”
Brown is the owner and founder of the spa and skin care line. Kristi Kiefer, an independent contractor, also does massage therapy at the McMillan location. The business is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Brown is a licensed aesthetician, nail technician, and massage therapist with 13 years of experience in the industry. Spa Eliana, which opened in 2004, frequently donates certificates to nonprofits such as Food for Thought, Fund the Arts, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“Helping people with their pain or concerns, it is very rewarding to have people call me back after an appointment to share their thankfulness and results with me,” said Brown when asked what her favorite aspect of the business is.
According to Brown, many people suffer from sensitive and problematic skin. Her new line, Kosmetikos, caters to sensitive skin and also has anti-aging results. Products include a purifying facial wash, emulsifying mask, and a results complex.
Other services include advanced skin care ($75 to $240), hair removal ($12 to $65), massage therapy ($25 to $100+), and nail care ($5 to $40). Retail items carried by Spa Eliana include SIRCUIT Skin Cosmeceuticals, Kelly Pure Essential Oils, Native Sister Soap, and Joie de Charlotte shea butter.
Brown recently added a new service called Wellness Pro, which is a natural pain relief system described as “bio electric therapy with micro current that neutralizes pain.” The service is available by appointment.
According to Brown, many people do not realize her spa is on McMillan. She recommends that people stop by to see what she has to offer and to try something different.
