Marshfield Area United Way
As the annual United Way campaign will soon be upon us, there is a unique opportunity United Way would like to extend to community members. Every now and again, there are misconceptions about where your generous donations go and how they are used. The United Way Experience is an opportunity for you to learn firsthand how your contributions are being utilized right in the Marshfield area.
What better way is there to understand where your generous contribution goes than to visit and participate in programs that United Way supports? The United Way Experience gives you the opportunity to do just that. In the months of September and October, there will be three visits offered to United Way programs.
The first visit on Thursday, Sept. 24, will give you an opportunity to learn about and participate in United Way’s Nutrition On Weekends program. You will help prepare food packs to be delivered to area students that are facing food insecurities in their homes.
The second visit on Wednesday, Oct. 7, will be to the Marshfield Area Respite Care Center. Marshfield Area Respite Care Center provides care and socialization for individuals with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia in a safe and supportive environment. The program also allows caretakers to know their loved one is being well cared for while they are at work, running errands, or getting a much needed break.
The third visit offered on Wednesday, Oct. 14, will be to the Hannah Center. The Hannah Center assists women in life crisis through compassion and guidance in a nurturing environment. Tour the facility, meet the staff, and learn more about what they do.
The visits are a great way to gain a better understanding of the work that United Way and its partners are doing in our community to help improve the quality of life for everyone.
