STRATFORD – The Stratford football team is one step closer to its 24th-straight WIAA playoff appearance after ripping Chequamegon 42-8 in a Marawood Conference game Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers are now 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the Marawood Conference, while Chequamegon drops to 2-4 and 2-3 in the conference.
Stratford must win two of its final three games to reach the WIAA playoffs. The Tigers are at Rib Lake next Friday against Rib Lake/Prentice, and at Auburndale on Oct. 9 before finishing the season Oct. 16 at home against Pittsville.
