MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, Marshfield Parks & Recreation, and the Wildwood Park Zoological Society are getting ready for the “big reveal” on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. The new state-of-the-art bear exhibit will finally be home to the Kodiak bear cubs.
Of the hundreds of names submitted for the two male cubs, the final six have now been chosen:
—Munsey and Boda: for Mike Munsey, who rescued the cubs, and Kodiak Wildlife Biologist Nate Svoboda, who helped save the cubs so they could come to Marshfield.
—Kapek and Koko: from native Inuit language, meaning “coffee” and “chocolate.”
—Wylie and Woody: for Wildwood Zoo.
Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and running through Wednesday, Oct. 21, you can vote for your favorite at visitmarshfield.com.
Along with a special program welcoming the cubs, the winning names will be announced at the event. Plan to come and give the cubs a real Marshfield welcome.
