Unidentified man steals food
An unidentified man wearing a two-toned gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans entered a store on the 100 block of N. Central Ave. and was observed on video surveillance stealing a hot food item at 10:08 a.m. The man appeared to place the food item up his left sleeve and then walked out of camera view momentarily. When he returned into view, the food item was no longer in his hand.
A store clerk checked the area where the man walked and could not find the item, leading the clerk to believe the man had left the store with the item without paying for it. Police are attempting to identify the man.
Wednesday, Sept. 30
Police perform citizens assist with verbal dispute
At 7:07 p.m. a 44-year-old Stevens Point woman reported that there was a verbal altercation between here and a 74-year-old Marshfield woman over landlord/tenant issues. The Stevens Point woman reported receiving a call from a 43-year-old Marshfield woman identifying herself as being a member of the Marshfield Police Department and inquiring about the altercation.
Police spoke to the 43-year-old, and she denied saying that she was from the police department but said she told the Stevens Point woman to leave her mother alone. Police talked to all parties, warned them for their behavior, and advised them to not have contact with each other.
Marshfield man taken into custody for DOC warrant
Police took a 27-year-old Marshfield man into custody for a valid Department of Corrections warrant. The man was booked at the Marshfield Police department and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Thursday, Oct. 1
Vehicle keyed on McMillan Street
An Owen woman reported that her vehicle had been keyed some time between 2:20 and 3:30 p.m. while it was parked on the 300 block of W. McMillan St. There were multiple marks varying from 6 inches to 2 inches in length.
There were no witnesses, and there are no suspects. A damage estimate is pending.
Marshfield woman arrested for OWI, obstructs investigation
Police responded at 7:10 p.m. to a report that a 38-year-old Marshfield woman was driving while intoxicated and had plans to pick up a juvenile from an after-school sporting event. The woman was located driving, stopped, and was then arrested for operating while intoxicated.
The woman became resistive and obstructed the investigation. She refused a legal blood draw and was transported to Wood County Jail for a 12-hour hold. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Man taken into custody on three Clark County warrants
Police took a 28-year-old man into custody for three Clark County warrants. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were completed. He was then transported to Clark County Jail.
Friday, Oct. 2
Blodgett Street residence damaged
A 61-year-old Marshfield woman reported that some time between 10 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 2 someone had damaged a window and the siding of her residence on the 1200 block of E. Blodgett St. The area around the damage was searched for any evidence of how the damage occurred, but nothing was found.
Photos were taken of the damage. There are no suspects.
Man reports unauthorized transactions on his credit card
At 2:43 p.m. a 27-year-old Marshfield man came into the Marshfield Police Department to report unlawful use of a credit card. The man had approximately four unauthorized transactions with his credit card.
The man closed the credit card and contacted his bank, who advised him to file a police report. There was no further information.
Reported runaway returns home
A 13-year-old Marshfield female was reported as a runaway after she did not return home from school at 4:40 p.m. Phone contact was made with known friends, but the juvenile’s whereabouts were unknown.
The juvenile returned home at a later time and stated she got lost. A referral was sent to Human Services.
Marshfield man jailed after altercation
Police responded at 9:55 p.m. to a report of an altercation on the 500 block of N. Maple Ave. A 27-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for a probation violation and was transported to Wood County Jail. A request for disorderly conduct charges will be filed with the Wood County DA’s office.
Man arrested for OAR
Police stopped a 48-year-old Marshfield man for operating after revocation due to an alcohol-related offense and arrested him. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and was released.
Saturday, Oct. 3
Man taken into custody on Marathon County warrant
Police took a 52-year-old Marshfield man who had a valid Marathon County warrant into custody at 9:33 p.m. on the 700 block of N. Anton Ave. The man was booked at the Marshfield Police Department, posted the full bond amount of $600, and was released.
Sunday, Oct. 4
Cellphone, charger stolen from Adler Road residence
A 37-year-old Marshfield woman reported her white Samsung phone and its charger were stolen from her residence on the 1100 block of Adler Road some time between Set. 30 and 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 4. The woman will contact the phone carrier to retrieve a serial number.
Two people were contacted in regards to the whereabouts of the phone. Both denied any knowledge.
Man arrested for OWI, issued multiple citations
A vehicle was spotted at 2:23 a.m. traveling northbound on South Vine Avenue, and a check of the vehicle’s registration returned on a different vehicle. The registered owner of the vehicle also came back suspended. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, a 26-year-old Marshfield man, had slurred speech as well as bloodshot, glossy, watery eyes.
The man was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he did poorly, and he registered a 0.172 on a preliminary breath test. The man was arrested and cited for operating while under the influence, first offense. He was also cited for operating after suspension as well as displaying unauthorized registration.
The man submitted to a legal blood draw and was released to a legal adult.
Tuesday, Oct. 6
Marshfield man turns himself in for DOC warrant
A 27-year-old Marshfield man turned himself in at the Marshfield Police Department for a valid Department of Corrections warrant. The man was booked and transported to Wood County Jail.
