Soothing music duo Tingstad and Rumbel coming to LTCA
For Hub City Times
SPENCER — If you need a relaxing musical tonic before the busy holiday season, Tingstad and Rumbel can provide it. For nearly three decades, these Grammy Award-winning artists have delighted audiences across the country with their unique blend of American finger-style guitar and beautifully melodic woodwinds.
This gentle ensemble will perform at the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts in Spencer beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
Eric Tingstad on guitar and Nancy Rumbel playing oboe, English horn, and ocarina are just as they appear: two good friends who enjoy each others’ company, admire each others’ abilities, and truly love music. Well-known for beautiful, original compositions inspired by world folk, jazz, and contemporary sounds as well as their innovative treatment of popular standards, theirs is the music of nature and grace.
The duo lives in the Pacific Northwest but has played in the meadows of Yosemite, a tiny candlelit chapel on Orcas Island, town halls in New York, and nature centers and restored theatres coast to coast.
Reserved seat tickets for this soothing evening are available for $20. Call 715-659-4499, or stop by the box office at 300 School St. in Spencer. Hours are Wednesday or Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are also available online at lucilletackcenter.com and may be purchased using PayPal or credit card.
