Spencer girls basketball edges Marshfield Columbus Catholic
Rockets now 2-0 in Cloverbelt East

SPENCER — Sydney Kind scored 16 points, and Macie Weber added 12 to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a tight 47-45 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Spencer High School.
The game was close throughout as Spencer held a 22-21 lead at halftime and prevailed by two at the end.
Spencer (2-1, 2-0 Cloverbelt Conference East Division) won despite shooting just 6 of 24 from the free throw line and 20 of 64 from the field.
The Dons were just 12 of 65 shooting and missed 14 of their 28 free throw attempts.
Jess Trad had 17 points to lead the Dons (1-3, 0-1 Cloverbelt Conference East Division).
Both teams return to action Tuesday. Columbus hosts Loyal, and Spencer plays at Granton in Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchups.
