Wednesday, Dec. 2
Five hundred dollars stolen from unlocked apartment
Police received a report that $500 was stolen from an apartment on the 2300 block of W. Fifth St. The money was taken from a Marshfield man’s wallet, which he had left on his desk in his bedroom, some time between Nov. 15 and Dec. 1.
The man stated that neither his apartment nor his bedroom are ever locked, and he did not have any suspects. Police advised him of means to prevent theft in the future.
The property manager stated that the apartment building houses approximately 60 residents and that he would check video surveillance for anything unusual.
Thursday, Dec. 3
Granton woman turned over to Clark County authorities
A 31-year-old Granton woman came into the Marshfield Police Department at 8:44 a.m. to get booked for previous charges. During that time it was learned that she had two Clark County warrants. The woman was unable to post the $471 bond and was transported to the Clark County line.
Two Marshfield men jailed for probation violations
At 9:18 a.m. police took a 51-year-old Marshfield man into custody at his residence on the 200 block of W. 14th St. for a probation violation. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and taken to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail.
At 4:36 p.m. police arrested a 32-year-old Marshfield man at his residence on the 1800 block of Emerald St. for a valid probation warrant. After being medically cleared, he was transported to Wood County Jail.
Charges for strangulation, battery requested for 70-year-old
Police responded to a report that a woman had been assaulted by her father, a 70-year-old from Marshfield. The woman stated that her father came to her residence to retrieve property and that they got into a verbal argument that turned physical.
Police arrested the man at 6:58 p.m. A request for charges for strangulation and suffocation and for battery will be completed and sent to the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Marshfield man violates bond by visiting bar
Police received a report at 9:15 p.m. that a 32-year-old Marshfield man was at a bar on the 500 block of E. Fourth St., which was a violation of his bond. The information was verified, and contact was made with the man inside the bar.
Police arrested the man and transported him to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were completed and bond criteria were met. The man was released, and charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office for misdemeanor bail jumping.
Saturday, Dec. 5
Twenty-five-year-old taken into custody for retail theft, THC possession
Police took a 25-year-old man into custody for retail theft and possession of THC on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. at 8:06 p.m. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and was later released. A citation for retail theft was issued, and charges for possession of THC will be forwarded to the Marathon County DA’s office.
Man arrested on Ozaukee County warrant
Police arrested a man on the 300 block of W. Third St. on a valid Ozaukee County warrant. He was unable to post the required $1,756.27 bond and was transported to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail.
Sunday, Dec. 6
Marshfield woman arrested following assault
Police responded at 11:59 a.m. to a report of an assault on the 500 block of S. Maple Ave. Police arrested a 26-year-old Marshfield woman. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Disturbance results in one taken into custody
Police responded at 6:32 p.m. to a report of a disturbance on the 1300 block of E. Depot St. Officers concluded that the incident met the requirements for domestic abuse.
Police took a 38-year-old Marshfield man into custody for disorderly conduct and transported him to the Marshfield Police Department. The man was booked and then released on a cash bond.
Marshfield police assist Portage County Sheriff’s Office
At 6:51 p.m. a Portage County deputy requested Marshfield police obtain a blood sample from a 57-year-old Kaukauna man that had been involved in a crash in Portage County and that was at Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
An officer read the informing the accused form to the man verbatim, and a phlebotomist later drew the blood. The blood was placed into a blood sample kit, sealed, and turned over to the officer.
Thief returns stolen item at store he stole from
At 7:43 p.m. a loss prevention worker at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. reported that a 25-year-old man had stolen from the business on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6. The man had been in the store earlier in the day of Dec. 6 to return the item he stole on Dec. 5 in exchange for money.
Police contacted the man over the phone, but he refused to meet with officers to provide a statement.
Charges are being requested through the Marathon County DA’s office. The man was advised that he was no longer allowed on the store property and that he would be arrested for trespassing if he goes on the property.
Monday, Dec. 7
Man reports unauthorized credit transactions
A Marshfield man reported three unauthorized credit transactions — occurring in New Jersey and Texas on Dec. 5 and 6 — had been charged to his account. He stated that his financial institution had not authorized any of the transactions, and he had not incurred a loss. The account was also discontinued.
It was unknown how the man’s information was obtained and used. The man reported he generally used his card at local businesses and not for online purchases.
Flag stolen from Blodgett Street residence
A Marshfield woman reported that someone removed a Green Bay Packer flag from the front of her residence on the 700 block of W. Blodgett St. without her consent some time between 11 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 7. The woman did not know who would have taken the flag, but she stated that property in front of her house had been damaged in the past.
Police conducted a neighborhood search but could not locate the flag. There are no suspects at this time.
Police respond to report of harassment
A 28-year-old Marshfield woman came into the Marshfield Police Department at 9:20 a.m. to report being harassed by the landlord where she does in-home care. The woman stated there had been arguments over vehicles parking in the wrong spots in the driveway. She also stated the landlord contacted her place of employment to get her fired.
The woman wanted the landlord to be contacted and to stop the harassing behavior. Police contacted the landlord, a 56-year-old Marshfield woman, and both parties were advised to cease contact with each other.
Tuesday, Dec. 8
Jail resident violates bond conditions
A Marshfield woman reported receiving an email from a 30-year-old male Marathon County Jail resident who was not supposed to be contacting her, according to his signature bond conditions. Marathon County Jail was notified of the violation and will be restricting the man’s privileges. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office.
