Clark County Sheriff’s Office warns of subcontractor scam
For Hub City Times
NEILLSVILLE — The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has received complaints of a fraud/scam in Clark County. The incidents that have been reported allege that a male subject is identifying himself as a subcontractor for a lightning protection company and/or a driveway sealant company. He uses generic forms and identifies himself as a subcontractor. After asking for payment upfront, he then does not return to complete the work.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who has been exposed to this kind of incident to please call the sheriff’s office at 715-743-3157 and report it.
As a reminder to citizens, please verify the person’s credentials and exercise sound judgement when accepting service from a company that comes to your door.
