MARSHFIELD — Mayor Chris Meyer was unopposed in his re-election bid retained his seat on Tuesday night. This morning Meyer said his upcoming fifth term will be his last, a notion he had hinted at before.
“Two more years and then that’s it,” Meyer said. When asked to confirm that he would not run again, he said, “I’m positive, no doubt about it.”
“This is my last term. I’m a lame duck effective today,” Meyer said.
By the end of the upcoming term, Meyer will have served 10 years in office.
