Parks & Rec offers golf, fitness classes

MARSHFIELD — Youth golf lessons at Marshfield Country Club will be held Sunday evenings May 1-22 at 5:15 p.m. for ages 6-10 and 6 p.m. for ages 10-14. This is an instructional program to introduce children to the game of golf. Adult participation is required, and the cost is $25 per child.
Golf instruction for women on Wednesday evenings from May 4 through June 8 at Marshfield Country Club will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The fee is $40. Lessons include two complimentary rounds of golf.

Fitness classes, held at the Senior Community Center in Marshfield Mall
Exercise class is designed to help those who have joint and/or muscle problems achieve improved joint mobility, muscle strength, and endurance to improve their performance in daily activities. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-10 a.m., May 3 – June 30. There will not be class on May 5, 10, 31, or June 2. Replacement classes will be held on May 9 and 23. The cost is $3 to drop in, or a punch card can be purchased at the class, $42 for 16 weeks or $21 for 8 weeks.
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese exercise that combines relaxed, fluid movement with a calm, alert mental state. It is no-impact exercise that builds endurance and enhances flexibility, balance, and coordination. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15-11:15 a.m., May 3 – June 30. There will not be class on May 5, 10, 31, or June 2. Replacement classes will be held on May 9 and 23. The cost is $3 to drop in, or a punch card can be purchased at the class, $42 for 16 weeks or $21 for 8 weeks.
