Stratford softball splits two at Poynette tournament

POYNETTE – The Stratford softball team split a pair of games at the Poynette Jamboree on Saturday, finishing the two-day tournament with a 2-1 record.
The Tigers lost to Stevens Point Pacelli 6-1 and defeated Portage 5-3.
Against Pacelli, Kiana Weiler had two hits and suffered the loss on the mound, giving up six runs, although only one was earned because of three Stratford errors.
Lorrie Luepke earned the victory against Portage.
Brittany Bredemann had a single, a double, and a triple and drove in three RBIs for the Tigers (12-4). Val Licciardi also had a double and scored twice for Stratford.
Stratford hosts Marathon on Monday.
