Marshfield Clinic to host ‘Empower Me’
Event focuses on healthy lifestyle management

MARSHFIELD — Empower Me – Cultured Pearls is a free wellness event Saturday, May 21, hosted by Marshfield Clinic and is open to men and women in the community who have an interest in healthy lifestyle management.
Thanks to a donation from the Oncology Nursing Society, this event in Marshfield Clinic’s Froehlke Auditorium, 1000 N. Oak Ave. in Marshfield, will allow participants to take home new “pearls of wisdom” and fun ideas to empower their wellness.
Lunch and resource materials will be provided. The schedule is as follows:
—9 a.m. – Welcome.
—9:15 a.m. – Keynote presentation: “The What and How of Mindfulness: A Tool of Coping” presented by Dr. Jennifer Michels.
—10:15 a.m. – Breakout Sessions: Movement for Wellness – Yoga, Living with a Healthy Spirit, and Music Therapy and Guided Imagery.
—11:15 a.m. – Group session: “Nutrition for Life” presented by Julene Diedrich, nurse practitioner.
—Noon – Lunch.
—1 p.m. – Panel discussion: “Living Life on the Positive Side” facilitated by Anna Cisler, genetic counselor, and Jennifer Wall.
—2 p.m. – Conclusion.

Marshfield Clinic’s Mobile Health Screening Unit will be at the event. Those interested may preregister for mammograms by calling 715-221-6086.
Part 2 of this event will be held Saturday, Oct. 22.
