Stratford softball tops Edgar in regular-season finale
Tigers host Wittenberg-Birnamwood in regional quarterfinal Tuesday

EDGAR — Stratford scored six runs in the first three innings and held off Edgar 7-3 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Edgar High School.
The Tigers scored two runs in the top of the first and added four more in the third to open up a 6-0 lead early.
Lorrie Luepke earned the win for the Tigers, striking out nine in a complete-game effort. She also had two doubles and an RBI. Kaylee Geiger had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Stratford (10-6).
Stratford will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday at Hilgemann Field. The Tigers would also play at home in a regional semifinal on Wednesday if they win their playoff opener.
