MARSHFIELD — On June 21 at Wildwood Station, Tom Ptak of the Marshfield Lions Club was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship in recognition of his commitment to serving others.
Named in honor of Melvin Jones, who founded Lions International in 1917 to help the less fortunate, the fellowship honors those who exemplify undying dedication and commitment to the Lions’ motto, “We serve.” It is the highest honor awarded in Lionism.
Since joining the Marshfield Lions Club in 2010, Ptak has served as a member on the board of directors and initiated the poinsettia and spring bulb fundraisers as well as being a cornea transporter.
