For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is welcoming 26 teams for the Third Annual Small Town Baseball World Series this weekend. Teams are traveling from seven different Midwest states. A few are from Wisconsin as well.
Most teams are staying overnight at local hotels, which are sold out for the weekend. The CVB works closely with Small Town Baseball and area hotels to help plan and run this event in Marshfield.
Marshfield is fresh off hosting 32 teams for the Small Town Baseball Wisconsin State Championships in June that sold out hotels, and it was a record year for visitors. The tournament had an estimated economic impact of $250,000 on the community.
The World Series games will be hosted at the Steve J. Miller Park fields in Marshfield with games starting at 8 a.m. July 15 and running through the evening on July 17, featuring entertainment and food as well. The public is welcome, and admission is free.
