MARSHFIELD — Play was suspended early Wednesday night at the Wisconsin Class AAA American Legion State Baseball Tournament at Jack Hackman Field and will resume Thursday morning.
De Pere (22-9) eliminated Neenah (13-8) with a 10-3 win Wednesday morning, and Wausau (19-18) tagged Sheboygan (19-20) 18-2 to stay alive in the double-elimination tournament.
The start of the winners’ bracket game between Beloit (27-5)-Madison Impact (29-3) game was delayed by rain and then suspended with Madison leading 7-1 in the eighth inning. The two teams were to resume play at 9 a.m. Thursday. Marshfield (23-7) was scheduled to take on Eau Claire (27-7) at 10 a.m. in the other winners’ bracket game.
Play will move on to elimination games with Wausau taking on the loser of the Beloit-Madison game at 1 p.m. De Pere will play the loser of the Marshfield-Eau Claire game at 4 p.m. The final game between undefeated teams — the winners of the Beloit-Madison and Marshfield-Eau Claire games — will be at 7 p.m.
