Roll out: CVB, Leadership Marshfield launch Marshfield Community Bikeshare program

July 29, 2016

For Hub City Times

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, in association with Leadership Marshfield, recently announced the completion and full implementation of the Marshfield Community Bikeshare. Marshfield Community Bikeshare offers residents and visitors use of easily accessible bicycles at little or no cost as a transportation or recreational option in Marshfield.

The idea originally developed as a Leadership Marshfield project in 2014 with class participants Dr. Roger Krogstad, Matt McLean, Ted Ryan, Jane Robeson, and Carolyn Totzke. The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau and volunteers continued with a soft launch that was successful in 2015, and the full implementation with three locations and six bicycles is now in place. The locations are Hotel Marshfield, Holiday Inn, and Baymont Inn.

Bicycles and helmets will be checked out in a similar fashion as a library would check out a book. The participants sign liability waivers and an agreement and leave a deposit of $2 — refundable on return of bicycle to same location — for a same-day rental, maximum of 12 hours.
