Marshfield cross country hosts annual Alumni/Intersquad Scrimmage
Fischer wins men’s race, Voss takes women’s

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield High School cross country team hosted its annual Alumni/Intersquad Scrimmage on Saturday at Weber Park.
The current boys team grabbed 12 of the top 13 spots to beat the Alumni 18-45, and the Tigers girls team edged the Alumni 27-30 by taking six top-10 spots.
Junior Paul Fischer won the men’s race in 11:14, seven seconds ahead of teammate Jordan Dzikowich. Adrian Kaiser was the Alumni’s top runner, taking third in 11:21.
Alumni Rebecca Voss ran away with the women’s race in 12:17. Sonya Ewert, also an Alumni member, was second in 14:10. Junior Sophia Schrodi was the girls team top runner, taking third in 14:51.
A total of 54 runners took part in the event.
Marshfield opens its season Sept. 3 at the Columbus Catholic Invitational at Wildwood Park. The Tigers will host their annual invitational on Sept. 6, also at Wildwood Park.
