Columbus Catholic soccer blanks Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in conference opener
Ryan Dieringer scores twice for Dons

MOSINEE — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team won its fifth-straight game to start the season as it blanked Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 3-0 in its Mid-State Soccer Conference opener Monday.
Ryan Dieringer scored twice, and Tyler Fuerlinger added a goal for the Dons, who are now 5-0 overall and have shut out their last four opponents.
Nick Malovrh and Charles Payant had assists for Columbus, and goalkeeper Jose Martin had two saves.
Columbus outshot WVL 26-6 overall and 12-2 on goal.
The Dons host Northland Lutheran in a Mid-State Soccer Conference contest at 5 p.m. Thursday at Griese Park.
