MARCC hosting Parkinson’s Conference

MARSHFIELD — United Way Partner, Marshfield Area Respite Care Center will host its Annual Parkinson’s Conference Sept. 26 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center. This educational event for Parkinson’s patients and their caregivers meets from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Keynote speaker Dr. Katie Spangler will present Parkinson’s 101. Eric Hall, physical therapist from Sport and Spine Clinic in Stratford, will explain how therapy can improve mobility for Parkinson’s patients.
Information on swallowing and speech, a National Institutes of Health clinical study, and prescription medicine will also be presented. Those attending are also invited to participate in chair yoga after lunch.

There will be a hospitality room open to any individuals requiring a break from the conference and place to rest.
