Letter to the editor: Reader says tax rate, school performance unrelated
I noticed in the Marshfield superintendent of schools interview with the business director something very interesting. This was shown on MCTV on Oct. 5.
The Marshfield tax rate for the schools was $9.55, one of the lowest, yet their ACT composite score was 24.8, the highest of 20 schools.
There seems to be no correlation between the tax rate and the students’ test scores, so obviously more money is not the answer.
I believe it has to be the fantastic teachers Marshfield has and their relationship with their students.
