Columbus Catholic girls basketball sneaks past Colby
Dons win conference opener on the road

COLBY — Morgan Albrecht scored a game-high 16 points to lift the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a narrow 48-47 victory over Colby in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener for both teams on Friday night at Colby High School.
Columbus Catholic (2-0 overall) led 23-15 at halftime and had to hold off the Hornets at the end. Colby was playing its first game of the season.
Kendra Baierl added 10 points and 15 rebounds, and Maren Seefluth had eight points and 12 rebounds for the Dons.
The Dons held a big advantage at the free throw line, going 23-for-34, while Colby was just 10 of 24.
Columbus Catholic plays another Cloverbelt East game at Spencer on Tuesday.
