Marshfield boys hockey ties Wisconsin Rapids
Roy-Peterson has 31 saves for Tigers

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield boys hockey team could not hold on to a two-goal lead and settled for a 2-2 tie with Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match Thursday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.
Isaac Wellens scored with 36 seconds left in the first period, and Justin Stanek added a goal 1:13 into the second to push Marshfield (2-3-1, 0-1-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) to a 2-0 lead.
Wisconsin Rapids (1-4-1, 0-0-1 WVC) stormed back with a pair of goals in the third period. Nick Campbell scored on the power play 3:35 into the third period, and Colton Flammini tied it with just 13 seconds remaining in the game.
Neither team scored in overtime as both Marshfield goalie Haydon Roy-Peterson and Wisconsin Rapids goalie Tanner Reany had five saves in the extra period. Roy-Peterson finished with 31 saves for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s next game is Tuesday at Rhinelander.
