Spencer boys basketball slips past Gilman
Rockets snap four-game losing skid

SPENCER — The Spencer boys basketball team ended a four-game losing streak with a 57-49 win over Gilman in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Tuesday night at Spencer High School.
Spencer led by just two at halftime before opening its lead up late and winning by eight.
Spencer shot 40 percent from the field (24 of 60) and held Gilman to only 31 percent shooting (19 of 61) and just 1 of 16 from 3-point range.
Jack Bezlyk topped Spencer (2-4, 2-2 Cloverbelt East) with 17 points. Noah Zastrow and Lukas Ellefson each added nine points for the Rockets. Ellefson was a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line while the rest of the team made just 4 of 12.
Torgor Crick led Gilman (1-5, 1-4 Cloverbelt East) with 16 points.
Spencer plays at Greenwood on Friday.
