Neillsville edges Auburndale boys basketball
Apaches drop to 3-3

NEILLSVILLE — The Auburndale boys basketball team suffered a tough 51-49 loss at Neillsville on Tuesday night.
The Apaches (3-3) led 25-20 at halftime but could not hold on as Neillsville (5-2) outscored them 31-24 during the second 18 minutes.
Auburndale shot just 17 of 46 from the field and 5 of 19 3-pointers in the loss.
Caleb Weinfurter had 13 points, making three 3-pointers, for Auburndale.
Auburndale hosts its annual tournament on Thursday and Friday. Loyal plays Weyauwega-Fremont at 6 p.m. Thursday, and Auburndale takes on Augusta at 7:30 p.m. The losers play Friday at 6 p.m., which will be followed by the championship game set for 7:30 p.m.
