Henry J. Weiler
Henry J. Weiler, 99, Marshfield, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, with family at his side, at Dycora Transitional Health and Living, Abbotsford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt, where the visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Rev. Dean Pingel will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Wayne Weiler, Elliott Weiler, Trent Weiler, Lorin Weiler, Jason Weiler, Kurt Semandel and Greg West. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Henry was born on May 14, 1917 in the Town of Bern, Marathon County to Sebastian and Margaret (Gilis) Weiler. He married Rachel H. Niemuth on February 18, 1939 in Stetsonville and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2009. Rachel passed away on June 5, 2012.
The Weiler’s farmed in the Town of Marshfield from 1939 until 1979 when they sold the farm to their youngest son Russ. They built a new home next to the farm and Hank continued to enjoy farming. While farming, he owned and operated Henry Weiler Trucking, mostly hauling gravel and soil as well as grading roads for the Town of Marshfield.
Besides farming, Hank enjoyed hunting, playing cards and shooting pool.
He is survived by his children, Del Weiler, Gary (Janet) Weiler, Monte (Joyce) Weiler, Keith (Sandy) Weiler, all of Marshfield, Bonnie (Skip) Semandel of West Allis, Barry (Myra) Weiler of Lac du Flambeau, Melody (Neal) West of Eagle River, Todd (Joan) Weiler of Howard, and Russ (Denise) Weiler of Marshfield, and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Weiler of Marshfield. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a son, Randy, a grandson, Shane, and several brothers and sisters.
The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
