Free throws lift Marshfield girls basketball past Chippewa Falls
Fehrenbach tops 1,000-point career mark for Tigers

CHIPPEWA FALLS — Marshfield made 27 of 33 free throws and shot 52 percent from the field to overcome 18 turnovers and defeated Chippewa Falls 73-64 in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday at Chippewa Falls High School.
Marshfield is now 10-8, and Chippewa Falls drops to 13-6.
Ema Fehrenbach made 8 of 10 from the line and finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, Jenna Jakobi and 17 points, and Corianne Johnson had 13 points and six rebounds for the Tigers.
Fehrenbach, a senior, surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career in the victory.
Marshfield was 21 of 40 from the field and 4 of 9 from 3-point range to go along with its stellar performance at the free throw line.
Meg Bryan added 12 points, making 6 of 8 at the free throw line, for Marshfield. The junior guard hit a pair of 3-pointers and now has 100 in her three-year career.
Marshfield plays at Wausau East on Friday and will host East on Saturday.
