Marshfield man arrested for probation hold
Police arrested a 35-year-old Marshfield man on the 500 block of E. Depot St. for a probation hold. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and was then was brought to Wood County Jail.
Monday, Feb. 13
Two report tax-related identity theft
A Marshfield woman reported at 6:56 p.m. that after attempting to file her income taxes online, she received an email stating her Social Security number had already been used on another tax return. Police advised her to contact her credit card companies and financial institutions to inform them of the identity theft, and she was given an identity theft brochure.
A Marshfield man stated at 11:16 a.m. on Feb. 14 that several of his co-workers had been notified by the Internal Revenue Service that someone had filed taxes on their behalf. When the man contacted the IRS to see if he was affected, it was confirmed that someone had filed taxes using his identity.
The man filed a complaint and filled out the proper forms via the IRS’ website. The detective bureau is currently investigating.
Tuesday, Feb. 14
Police assist Probation and Parole
A Probation and Parole agent requested at 4:22 p.m. that officers take a 38-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 300 block of S. Peach Ave. for a probation violation. After doing so, officers transported the man to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and then to Wood County Jail.
Man warned for trespassing
Police responded at 6:30 p.m. to a report that a 37-year-old Marshfield man was trespassing at a store on the 600 block of S. Central Ave. The man had previously been caught shoplifting there and was informed that he was no longer allowed on store property.
Officers made contact with the man, who admitted that he was at the store but said that due to a medical condition he forgot he was not allowed there. Store management requested that the man be warned for the incident and cited if he trespasses again.
Marshfield man jailed for probation violation
Police took a 38-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 300 block of S. Peach Ave. for a probation violation. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was booked, and then to Wood County Jail.
Officer observes man with suspended driver’s license operating vehicle
An officer observed a vehicle pull out onto the roadway from a driveway near Fourth Street and Peach Avenue. The vehicle operator had a suspended driver’s license.
The officer made contact with the driver and detained him until receiving confirmation from Probation and Parole that he was placed on a hold. The driver was then brought in for the probation hold, booked at the Marshfield Police Department, and transported to Wood County Jail.
Wednesday, Feb. 15
Arpin man arrested for THC, drug paraphernalia possession
As a result of a suspicious vehicle investigation on the 200 block of S. Oak Ave. at 11:56 p.m., an 18-year-old Arpin man was arrested for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. Also, a 19-year-old Milladore man was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
The Arpin man was brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and later released. A request for charges will sent to the district attorney’s office.
Thursday, Feb. 16
Man with DOC warrant taken into custody
Police took a 30-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 1400 block of N. Peach Ave. for a Department of Corrections warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were completed, and then was taken to Wood County Jail.
Marshfield man arrested for battery – domestic abuse
A woman reported at 8:49 p.m. that she was battered by her boyfriend, a 36-year-old from Marshfield, on the 400 block of W. Blodgett St. The man was taken into custody a short distance later after a brief foot pursuit.
He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and later transported to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail. A request for charges will be sent to the DA’s office for battery – domestic abuse.
Friday, Feb. 17
Bail jumping, trespassing, drug possession charges requested for Marshfield man
Police responded at 6:47 a.m. to a report of trespassing on the 600 block of St Joseph Ave. A 41-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody, and he was found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia and was out on bond on an unrelated case.
The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later taken and released to Wood County Jail. Charges of felony bail jumping, criminal trespass, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia will be sought through the Wood County DA’s office.
Police perform two warrant pickups
Police took a 50-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 800 block of N. Central Ave. at 9:03 p.m. for a valid Clark County warrant. The woman was unable to post the $5,488.86 bond amount and was then transported to the county line and turned over to a Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy without incident.
A 30-year-old Marshfield woman was arrested on the 400 block of S. Chestnut Ave. for two valid Marshfield warrants. She was brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking, posted the required bond, and was released.
Woman taken into custody after disturbance with sister
Police responded at 6:51 p.m. to a report of a disturbance between two sisters on the 1300 block of N. Fig Ave. Following investigation, a 44-year-old Marshfield woman was taken into custody for domestic battery charges and later transported to Wood County Jail. Charges will be directed to the Wood County DA’s office.
Saturday, Feb. 18
Marshfield man jailed for second THC possession offense
Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Western Street and St Joseph Avenue at 10:44 a.m., police arrested a 37-year-old Marshfield man for possession of THC, second offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and transported to Wood County Jail.
Twenty-year-old with warrant taken into custody
Officers made contact with a 20-year-old Marshfield man in reference to a retail theft complaint at 11:16 a.m., and the man was found to have a valid Marshfield warrant. The man was taken into custody, was unable to post bond, and was transported to Wood County Jail.
Neillsville man arrested for retail theft
At 6:18 p.m. police arrested a 38-year-old Neillsville man for attempting to steal some items from a store on the 1300 block of N. Central Ave. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and later released.
A request for charges will be filed through the Wood County DA’s office. Probation and Parole was contacted as well.
Sunday, Feb. 19
Police respond to woman leaping out of car
Police and an ambulance were requested to the 400 block of N. Chestnut Ave. at 12:49 p.m. for a woman who either jumped or was pushed from a moving vehicle. Upon investigation, officers learned that a 24-year-old Marshfield woman and 30-year-old Marshfield man who live together were having a verbal argument in their vehicle. The woman became upset and jumped out of the vehicle because she did not wish to be around the man.
The woman refused medical attention. The man was issued citations for operating after suspension and a suspended registration.
