SCHOFIELD — The Marshfield softball team won its fourth-straight game, topping D.C. Everest 7-5 in Wisconsin Valley Conference action Tuesday at D.C. Everest High School.
The Tigers (6-1 overall, 3-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) led 5-0 after three innings and 6-1 after 5½ before D.C. Everest mounted a comeback.
The Evergreens (2-4, 1-1 WVC) scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to tighten it up, but Marshfield came back with a run in the top of the seventh and held on from there.
Megan Donahue grabbed the win with a complete-game effort. She struck out 12, walked three, and allowed eight hits in seven innings. She also smacked her fifth home run of the season and drove in three runs.
Rhiannon Corozolla added a home run, her second of the year, and also had two singles, scored twice, and drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers. Morgan Nordbeck and Emily Draeger each chipped in with a pair of hits and a run each.
Marshfield will host Wausau East on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
