Auburndale softball knocks off Wausau Newman Catholic
Apaches even Marawood South mark at 2-2

WAUSAU — Auburndale scored five runs in the final two innings to surge past Wausau Newman Catholic and pick up a 12-7 win in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Friday.
The Apaches scored three times in the both the second and fourth innings to grab a 7-3 lead, and after Newman closed to within a run, Auburndale plated four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to complete the victory.
Auburndale is now 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the Marawood South. Newman drops to 2-3 overall and in conference play.
Maggie Willfahrt earned the victory, allowing four runs in four innings of relief of Rachael Bolder.
Mackenzie Raab went 3-for-4 and scored twice, and Brooke Anderson and Marissa Ponshock each drove in three runs for Auburndale.
Auburndale plays a nonconference game at Edgar on Tuesday.
