MERRILL — Connor Jasurda and Hunter Korger combined on a three-hitter to lift the Marshfield baseball team past Merrill 4-1 in Wisconsin Valley Conference action Tuesday.
Jasurda allowed one run and three hits in five innings to earn the victory, and Korger tossed two shutout innings to grab the save for Marshfield (3-3, 2-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference).
“It was nice to get a ‘W,’” Marshfield coach Jon Bauer said. “Conner and Hunter pitched well. Our defense did a nice job attacking the ball and making the plays we were supposed to make. Paul (Maguire) had a great game behind the plate. He blocked some tough pitches in key situations. It was a very good effort, hope we can keep it going.”
Ryan Krueger, Austin Palacek, and Logan Jakobi had RBIs for the Tigers.
Marshfield will host Merrill at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.
