Auburndale baseball jumps on Newman early, cruises to Marawood South win
Ertl has two hits, four RBIs for Apaches

AUBURNDALE — Cam Ertl had two hits and four RBIs to help the Auburndale baseball team to a 13-3 victory over Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game Monday at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale scored nine times in the second inning to take a 10-0 lead and cruised from there, ending the game after six innings via the 10-run rule.
Nine different Apaches had hits in the win. Caleb Weinfurter had a double and two RBIs, and Cason Schmutzer also had a double and an RBI for Auburndale (8-6, 5-6 Marawood South).
Cooper Weinfurter threw a complete-game four-hitter for the Apaches, striking out three.
Auburndale plays at Stratford on Tuesday in its Marawood South season-finale.
