WAUSAU — Megan Donahue pitched a six-hit shutout as the Marshfield softball team survived a 1-0 victory at Wausau West on Thursday.
Donahue did not walk a batter and struck out six in the victory. She also had a pair of hits, including a double, and scored the only run of the game, driven in on a single by Rhiannon Corozolla in the fourth inning.
Marshfield is now 14-5 overall and 7-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. The Tigers play a doubleheader at Wausau East on Friday to finish its WVC schedule. With a sweep, Marshfield would tie D.C. Everest for second place in the conference standings.
Wausau West drops to 8-13 and finishes 4-8 in the WVC.
