Irene Josephine Fait
God took Irene Josephine Fait, 97 of Marshfield to his home at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017. Irene resided at Stoney Ridge Assisted Living, and previously resided at Aster Assisted Living from 2007-2017.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
The visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield WI and again on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until time of the service. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
Irene was born in Sherry WI on July 2, 1919 to Frank and Frances (Koller) Tauschek. She attended Milladore grade and high schools. On October 26, 1937, she was united in marriage to Sylvester Fait at St. Killian’s Catholic Church in Blenker. The couple farmed in the Nasonville area until 1971 when they moved to the City of Marshfield. They celebrated their 72nd anniversary in 2009.
She had a full and active life that centered on her religious life, her family, her friends and her home. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church of Bakerville, St John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield the Catholic Daughters, the Marshfield Area Missionary Society and the Lady Knights of Marshfield. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, cooking and dancing. She was known as a loving and loyal friend to many. She was always ready with a pleasant smile, an open heart and sound advice.
She is survived by seven children, Irene Reigel of Appleton, Elaine Stark of Menasha, Richard Fait of Marshfield/Texas, Robert Fait of Mauston, Ronald (Cathy) Fait of Madison, Raymond (Jeanie) Fait of Marshfield and Bonnie (Bruce) Senst of Roseville, MN; one brother Franklin (Mary) Tauschek of Green Bay/Texas; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband on June 22, 2010, one daughter, Carol (Jerry) Fruehbrodt on Dec 16, 2004, one great grandson, Chase Ertl on February 4, 2006, three brothers Erwin, Clem and Francis, a sister Rita, and her parents.
