Marshfield man arrested for THC possession, bail jumping
Following a traffic stop on the 700 block of E. Blodgett St. at 12:37 a.m., police arrested a 29-year-old Marshfield man for possession of marijuana and felony bail jumping.
Wednesday, May 24
Woman taken into custody, teen cited for underage drinking
Police took a 38-year-old Marshfield woman into custody during a traffic stop near the intersection of Fourth Street and Vine Avenue at 8:13 p.m. The suspect ran from the traffic stop and resisted arrest during a brief foot pursuit. She had an active Department of Corrections warrant and was issued several citations.
After booking, the woman was transported to Wood County Jail and will have a charge of resisting arrest referred to the Wood County district attorney’s office.
In addition, a 19-year-old Hewitt man was a passenger and was subsequently cited for underage alcohol, fourth offense.
Milwaukee man arrested for OAR
Police arrested a 33-year-old Milwaukee man for operating after revocation following a traffic stop near the intersection of Anton Avenue and Becker Road. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then released.
Intoxicated man violates probation
A 22-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for a probation violation on the 500 block of E. 17th St. as police discovered he was intoxicated. He was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was booked, and later transported to Wood County Jail.
Friday, May 26
Unidentified man, woman commit retail theft
A loss prevention officer at a store on the 1300 block of N. Central Ave. reported that on May 10 an unknown male and female, possible in their late 40s, removed merchandise from the store without rendering payment. The man took a TracPhone and an iPhone case, and the woman removed a hooded, zip-up sweatshirt and an AC/DC T-shirt.
The loss prevention officer said he was not able to verify the theft at the time, which was why he did not contact law enforcement then. The license plate number the loss prevention officer obtained from the suspects’ vehicle did not come back with information.
Video surveillance footage was entered into evidence. No further action was taken.
Television, cash reported stolen
A Marshfield woman reported that a television and $100 in cash were stolen from her residence on the 700 block of S. Holly Ave. some time between May 13 and May 25. There were no signs of forced entry, and several people knew where a spare key was kept.
One of the woman’s daughters said the television was hers and that she did not take the money. Police told the woman the television was a civil matter, and there were no other leads regarding the theft of the money.
Police perform two warrant pick-ups
At 2:06 p.m. police arrested a 43-year-old woman on the 300 block of E. Fourth St. for a Marshfield warrant. She was booked and later transported to Wood County Jail.
Police took a 29-year-old man into custody during a traffic stop for a Marathon County warrant. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Marathon County Jail after he was not able to post bond.
Saturday, May 27
Bicycle stolen on Central Avenue
A Marshfield man reported that his bicycle was stolen some time during his work shift between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The bicycle was unlocked on the side of a building on the 600 block of S. Central Ave. There are no suspects and no video surveillance of the theft.
Sunday, May 28
Keys reported stolen
A Marshfield woman reported that a 25-year-old Marshfield man took keys from her residence without consent some time between 11 p.m. on May 27 and 2:30 a.m. on May 28. Missing were a key to a vehicle and two apartment keys. The woman said the man was an acquaintance of hers and had been staying at her residence off and on for approximately one week.
Through investigation police learned that the man was at a residence in Almond, and an attempt to locate request was issued through the Portage County Sheriff’s Office. Portage County authorities were unable to contact the man. The man had two active warrants for his arrest, one through the Department of Corrections and another through the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.
Police advised the woman to contact a locksmith to have a key made for the vehicle and to notify management to possibly have her apartment lock changed. No further action was taken.
Man with warrant, possessing drugs taken into custody
Police responded at 8:47 p.m. to a report of a physical altercation on the 1400 block of S. Locust Ave. A man was taken into custody for having a valid warrant. He was also in possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. The incident did not meet the criteria for domestic abuse.
The man was transported to Wood County Jail, and a request for charges will be filed with the Wood County DA’s office.
Marshfield man consumes intoxicants, violating probation
Police took a 24-year-old Marshfield man into custody at a bar on the 500 block of S. Central Ave. after being called there for a disturbance. The man was found to be consuming intoxicants, which was a violation of one his probation rules. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
