Missing Marshfield woman’s body found

MARSHFIELD — The body of a Marshfield woman was found approximately one mile from where her abandoned vehicle was located last week.
Anna Ineichen went missing and was last seen Thursday evening, June 22 at 10:30 p.m. at her residence in Marshfield. Her vehicle was recovered in Dexterville in the vicinity of State Highway 54 and State Highway 80 on Friday morning, June 23 at 3:30 a.m.
Search efforts took place from June 23 through June 27 by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the Marshfield Police Department, and other partnering agencies and individuals.
The body of a deceased female was found on Tuesday, June 27 at roughly 5:30 p.m. in the Yellow River, south of State Highway 54 in Dexterville. This would be approximately one mile from where Anna Ineichen’s vehicle was located.
An autopsy was performed at UW-Madison and through the investigation it was determined that the deceased was identified as Anna Ineichen. Anna’s family has been notified.
According to the Coroner’s office, the preliminary cause of death is drowning. No toxicology reports have been made available.
