Step back in time: June 25 – July 1 in Hub City history

Ten years ago
Golden Living Center – Three Oaks hosted a flag raising program on Flag Day, June 14, in the center’s Alzheimer’s Care Unit courtyard. Leading the ceremony was the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 57 of Marshfield.
Twenty-five years ago
Celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary recently were Victor and Ina Anderson of Chili. Married June 25, 1932, at the Methodist Church in Lindsey, the couple celebrated with a family dinner held at Country Pines Supper Club.
Fifty years ago
The lawn of the Upham House was to be the scene of a flag-raising ceremony that would kick off Marshfield’s five-day Four-Score observance. The observance commemorated the 80th anniversary of the start of rebuilding of the city after much of it was destroyed by a devastating fire on June 27, 1887.
Seventy-five years ago
The Baer-Huth Grade A softball team defeated Camp McCoy No. 1 by a score of 1 to 0 at their recent game held at the fairground diamonds as one of two games being played. After a four-run fifth inning, Arcade-Jerroldmen held on by that margin to beat Camp McCoy No. 2 by a 9 to 5 final.
