MARSHFIELD — During a construction update to the Marshfield Board of Public Works on June 19, The Boson Company representative Joe Dolezal stated that preconstruction work had been completed on the future community center and that construction would begin on renovations of the facilities.
“On the community center, our owner salvage items have been completed, … so the building is cleaned out and ready for us,” said Dolezal. “The preconstruction meeting was held last week on the project. Things went fine there. The asbestos abatement is complete, and we have our air clearances.
“Construction mobilization occurred this week, and safety fence is being installed. … Demolition is underway.
“Mechanicals are onsite now disconnecting systems, and the interior steel stud walls should start shortly.
“We are verifying all of the material deliveries to confirm or tighten up the schedule so we know week by week what is going to be arriving, and the architect right now is reviewing a few more shop drawings for the project to confirm some of those panels and one rooftop unit.”
Dolezal added that contractor parking had been set-up on the gravel section of First Street with unloading stationed at the main entrance of the future community center, which would not impede or conflict with the main library parking areas.
Though the company is still confirming delivery dates, Dolezal stated that completion of the renovations is slated for early to mid-November.
