Lester Public Library of Arpin summer learning program reaches week two
For Hub City Times
ARPIN — Many balloons filled the space from floor to ceiling for week two of the teen summer learning program at Lester Public Library of Arpin. Using rope, masking tape, and a variety of shapes and colors of balloons, the teens built a tower from the floor to the ceiling. The team of teens led by James Bauer, the library’s teen program planner, decided to draw images and write quotes on many of the balloons adding more interest to the final tower. It will be on display for a couple of weeks.
Continuing with the Build a Better World theme, close to 70 children between 3 and 13 years old at the Arpin and Vesper libraries built and painted their own tool boxes. Home Depot of Wisconsin Rapids provided the tool kits with paint, brushes, aprons, and pins. Contrary to the librarians’ expectations, very few thumbs were mistaken for nails.
