Monday, July 3
Plastic drums stolen from Blodgett Street residence
A man reported that someone took three 55-gallon plastic drums some time between 8:15 a.m. on July 2 and 10:55 a.m. on July 3 from his residence on the 100 block of W. Blodgett St. The drums were on the west side of his garage and had the man’s address painted on them.
The man gets the drums for free from where he works but indicated they have a value of approximately $30 each.
This was the second time this has happened. About three months ago, four other drums the man had were stolen from the same location. The man had no suspects and did not give anyone permission to take the drums.
Man arrested for fourth OWI, drug possession, probation hold
Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Eighth Street and Veterans Parkway at 9:44 p.m., police arrested a 31-year-old man for operating while under the influence, fourth offense. During a search of the vehicle, police located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The man was placed on a probation hold and transported to jail.
Wednesday, July 5
Woman cited for OWI, first offense
Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at 2:06 a.m. after it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Vine Avenue and Blodgett Street. The driver was identified by her Wisconsin driver’s license as a 21-year-old woman.
A strong odor of intoxicants was emitting from the vehicle, and the driver had very slurred speech and lethargic movements. She performed standardized field sobriety tests poorly, and she submitted to a preliminary breath test, which registered 0.204.
Police observed two open alcohol containers, a beer and what appeared to be a mixed drink, in the back of the vehicle.
The woman was arrested and cited for operating while under the influence, first offense. The informing the accused was read to the woman verbatim, and she submitted to a legal blood draw. The woman was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center, where a phlebotomist completed the blood draw, and then to her residence to be released to a sober party.
Thursday, July 6
Vehicle registration sticker reported stolen, tire punctured
A Marshfield woman reported that some time between 10 p.m. on July 5 and 6 a.m. on July 6 while her vehicle was on the 900 block of S. Central Ave., the registration sticker on the license plate was stolen, and a tire was punctured. The woman stated she had been having issues with her downstairs neighbors and believed they were responsible. Investigation will continue.
Man taken into custody for strangulation
A woman reported at 9:41 a.m. that she had been strangled by her 29-year-old boyfriend on the 100 block of N. Purdy Ave. Prior to officer arrival, the man had left on foot with a small child.
Through investigation, police determined that a verbal dispute escalated to the man pushing the woman and placing a hand on her throat, causing her difficulty breathing and fear.
The man was taken into custody, booked, and then transported to Wood County Jail with charges being referred to the Wood County district attorney’s office for strangulation. The child was released to her grandmother.
Marshfield woman arrested for probation violation
Police arrested a 26-year-old Marshfield woman on the 500 block of N. Central Ave. after she was found to be in violation of her probation terms. She was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and later transported to Wood County Jail.
Man with warrants taken into custody
Police took a 21-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. for multiple Shawano County warrants. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and later transported to Wood County Jail.
Friday, July 7
Computer fraud reported
A woman reported a fraudulent charge was made on her checking account from an online purchase from Walmart on July 5. The woman had contacted her bank, who told her to file a report with the Marshfield Police Department.
The woman also contacted Walmart and was told that Walmart did have information on the individual who made the purchase, which was for a television worth $475.44, and it was picked up at a store in Hampton, Virginia. Walmart stated the information would be released to law enforcement.
Liquor stolen from Central Avenue store
An employee at a store on the 600 block of S. Central Ave. reported that an unidentified man stole several bottles of liquor worth a total of $84.37 and left the store on foot at 10:24 a.m. Officers were unable to identify or locate the suspect. Investigation will continue.
Duffel bag reported stolen from vehicle
A Marshfield man reported that his duffel bag, which contained several items of value, including clothes and medications, was stolen from his vehicle some time between 10:30 a.m. and 11:04 a.m. The vehicle was on the 100 block of N. Central Ave.
There are no known suspects at this time. Investigation will follow.
Saturday, July 8
Marshfield man taken into custody for battery
A woman reported at 1:21 p.m. that she had been involved in a physical altercation with her husband, a 34-year-old from Marshfield. Police spoke to the woman and found the man a short time later walking away from the residence.
The man was taken into custody for battery, domestic abuse-related, and then transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures. He was later released after posting bond.
Intoxicated 50-year-old arrested following pursuit
Police responded at 6:22 p.m. to a report that a 50-year-old Marshfield man was on probation and intoxicated on the 200 block of W. 14th St. While officers were en route, the man attempted to flee the area on foot.
Officers later located the man and pursued him. The man suddenly stopped, took a fighting posture, and came toward officers. Police deployed an electronic control device, and the man then complied.
The man was taken to the Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance, to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures, and then to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.
Man arrested for OWI, THC possession, paraphernalia possession
Police arrested a man following a traffic stop near the intersection of 14th Street and Maple Avenue at 11:44 p.m. for operating while under the influence, first offense; possession of THC; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail for a 12-hour hold. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office.
Sunday, July 9
Cellphone reported stolen on moving day
A Whitewater woman reported that her cellphone was stolen at 11:30 a.m. on July 8. The woman said her phone was sitting outside while she was helping her daughter move into a residence on the 100 block of E. 17th St.
The woman was able to determine a general location of the phone using an app on her iPad, but it was not specific enough to narrow down. There are no suspects at this time, and police informed the woman to continually check to see if the phone’s location changes.
Thirty-year-old taken into custody for false imprisonment, other charges
A woman came into the Marshfield Police Department at 4:37 a.m. to report a domestic incident. Following investigation, police took a 30-year-old man into custody for false imprisonment, battery, criminal damage to property, and burglary. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Marathon County Jail.
Monday, July 10
Marshfield man arrested for probation hold, warrants
Police arrested a 23-year-old Marshfield man at his residence on the 600 block of N. Chestnut Ave. on two active warrants and a probation hold. He was booked and transported to Wood County Jail.
