Monday, July 10
Delivered packages reported stolen
A Marshfield man reported that some time between 3:03 p.m. and 4 p.m. on July 8 two packages containing items worth $110.93 were delivered to his residence on the 600 block of W. Arnold St. and then stolen. The man confirmed with the post office that the packages had been delivered.
There are no suspects, and the man wished for the incident to be documented.
Tires slashed on Central Avenue
A Loyal man reported that on consecutive nights, July 9 and July 10, multiple tires were slashed on his vehicle by what appeared to be a small, sharp object, possibly a knife. The incidents occurred on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave.
The man believed a 19-year-old Marshfield man may have been responsible. Police are attempting to locate the suspect, and the victim will provide a damage estimate later.
Woman arrested for retail theft, bail jumping
Police responded at 10:17 p.m. to a report of a 29-year-old woman that was in custody for retail theft at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. She was arrested and then booked at the Marshfield Police Department.
The woman was out on bond for multiple cases. A request for charges will be sent to the Marathon County district attorney’s office for multiple counts of bail jumping and retail theft.
Tuesday, July 11
Cash reported stolen from wallet
A Marshfield man reported that $480 was stolen from his wallet, which was in a dresser at his house on the 600 block of E. Ninth St., some time between 8 p.m. on July 10 and 7:30 a.m. on July 11. The man said multiple people were at his house during those hours, and he suspected one person more than the rest.
Wausau man with warrant arrested
Police arrested a 24-year-old Wausau man on the 900 block of W. North St. for a valid Wisconsin Rapids warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures. A DNA sample was obtained from the man, and he was released.
Wednesday, July 12
Driver of vehicle involved in crash arrested for Wood County warrant
Police responded to a traffic crash, and the driver of the striking vehicle was arrested for a 7-year-old Wood County warrant. The driver was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and released after bond was posted.
Thursday, July 13
Woman violates probation, found to possess THC, paraphernalia
Police responded at 12:18 a.m. to a report that a man and his girlfriend, a 36-year-old from Marshfield, had been in an argument on the 900 block of N. Central Ave. The man said the woman had come home very intoxicated, and they began to argue. During the argument, the woman tore the man’s shirt. He then left the residence and called police.
Officers arrived as the woman was leaving the residence. She had a strong odor of intoxicants on her breath, and her preliminary breath test resulted in a 0.186, which was a violation of her probation conditions. The woman allowed officers to search her bags, and police located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The woman was taken to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.
Nekoosa woman taken into custody for driving while revoked
At 11:12 a.m. police took a 34-year-old Nekoosa woman into custody on the 700 block of S. Central Ave. for driving while revoked, operating while under the influence-related, as well as failure to install an ignition interlock device. The woman was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and later released.
Police perform warrant pickup
Police took a 43-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 600 block of E. 21st St. for a Marshfield warrant. She was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then released after a DNA sample was taken.
Friday, July 14
Home security device reportedly disabled
A Marshfield woman reported that someone had accessed her home security digital video recording device some time between 8 a.m. on July 4 and 10:40 p.m. on July 14 and disabled it intentionally. The woman had taken the DVR apart, and it was on the floor of the woman’s residence on the 500 block of E. Fifth St. at the time of officer arrival.
The woman believed a male friend of hers may have changed the settings on the DVR without telling her so he could later enter the residence without her knowledge.
Marshfield woman’s identity used in Apple account purchases
A Marshfield woman reported that her Apple account was hacked on July 13 and that unauthorized purchases totaling $59.03 were made. The woman contacted Apple, and her account was refunded.
The woman noticed the credit card account was in her name, but she had not opened the credit card account. She said she would contact her bank to get further details and then contact police again when she has more information.
Saturday, July 15
Woman taken into custody for multiple charges
Police responded at 2:13 a.m. to a report that an intoxicated 37-year-old Marshfield woman was out of control and punching people at a residence on the 300 block of W. Kalsched St. Upon officer arrival, a man was on top of the woman attempting to control her. The man sustained multiple injuries, including two bite marks on his body, a cut on his left hand, and an abrasion under his right eye.
The woman was taken into custody for battery – domestic; disorderly conduct – domestic; felony bail jumping; misdemeanor bail jumping; possession of a schedule IV prescription medication, second offense; and habitual criminality. She was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then brought to Wood County Jail.
Man threatens mother, younger brother
Police received a report at 6:34 a.m. of a 25-year-old man threatening his mother and juvenile brother via statements on Facebook Messenger. Officers arrived at the mother and younger brother’s residence, viewed the messages, and then proceeded to locate the 25-year-old.
After officers left the area, the 25-year-old proceeded to knock forcefully on the victims’ door and yell at them. He left and later met officers at the Marshfield Police Department, where he referenced being at the victims’ residence and admitted to the comments written on one of his accounts. He said he felt provoked and wanted the contact to stop.
The man was booked and then released after posting bond. A charge for disorderly conduct, domestic, will be referred to the Wood County DA’s office.
Following traffic stop, man jailed for THC possession, bail jumping, other charges
K-9 Steffi conducted an exterior sniff of a vehicle during a traffic stop near the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Maple Avenue at 10:26 p.m. and alerted to the odor of a controlled substance. Police searched the vehicle and located a digital scale; a green, leafy, plant-like material that later tested positive for THC; and an uncased pellet handgun under the driver seat.
The driver of the vehicle had three felony and three misdemeanor charges pending against him in Marathon County. He was taken into custody, booked at the Marshfield Police Department, and transported to Wood County Jail.
