Sunday, July 16
Eighteen-year-old with warrant taken into custody
Police took an 18-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 400 block of N. Ash Ave. for a valid Marshfield warrant. She was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and later released.
Monday, July 17
Marshfield woman arrested for battery, probation hold
Police responded at 11:57 p.m. to a report of a physical altercation on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. Officers arrived and made contact with a man and a 35-year-old Marshfield woman.
The man was bleeding from a small cut on his face. He initially stated that he suffered the cut when he tripped and fell into a wall, but the woman later admitted that she threw a phone at the man, causing the injury. The man refused medical attention.
The woman was arrested for battery – domestic abuse and a probation hold. She was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then taken to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney.
Tuesday, July 18
Backpack stolen from Hefko changing room
Police received a report that a backpack and its contents, which included a cellphone, $4, and various clothing, were stolen from the Hefko Pool girls’ changing room some time between 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
Officers made contact with pool staff, who stated the backpack had not been turned in. There are no suspects.
Wednesday, July 19
Woman arrested, cited for OWI
An officer was dispatched to investigate an erratic driving complaint at 9:15 p.m. It was reported that a vehicle struck and damaged a one-way sign post and then left the area.
The vehicle was located in a parking lot near Central Avenue and East Second Street, and it had damage consistent with striking a sign post. Police located and made contact with the driver, a 51-year-old Marshfield woman.
The woman stated she was drunk but had not had anything to drink since she arrived home. Standardized field sobriety tests (SFST) were conducted, and the woman’s preliminary breath test (PBT) showed a reading of 0.183.
The woman was placed under arrest and cited for operating while under the influence (OWI), first offense. She consented to a legal blood draw and was later released to a responsible party.
Thursday, July 20
Three men jailed on probation holds
At 2:34 p.m. police received a report of a disturbance involving a 25-year-old Marshfield man and an 18-year-old Marshfield woman. All parties were told to go their separate ways.
As a result of an alleged incident that happened the day before, the man was arrested for a probation hold. He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and then was taken to Wood County Jail. No new charges are being requested.
Police made contact with a man on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. and issued him a verbal warning for disorderly conduct regarding threatening comments made to a previous girlfriend. Probation and Parole was contacted and elected to place a hold on the man for the incident.
The man was arrested, booked at the Marshfield Police Department for the probation hold, and then transported to jail.
A 34-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody on the 300 block of S. Peach Ave. for a probation hold due to a probation violation. He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and then was transported to Wood County Jail.
Friday, July 21
Vehicles on Vine Avenue egged
Two Marshfield women reported that some time between midnight and 8 a.m. someone had thrown eggs at their vehicles, which were parked on the side of the street on the 900 block of S. Vine Ave. After attempting to clean the eggs from their vehicles, the women noticed paint peeling from the areas hit by the raw eggs.
Pictures were taken of the damage. There are no suspects at this time.
Saturday, July 22
Baraboo man cited for third OWI
An officer observed a 41-year-old Baraboo man driving erratically at 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Central Avenue and 16th Street. The officer followed the subject and initiated a traffic stop after the vehicle had been traveling 35 mph in a 25-mph zone.
During the stop, the officer noticed the odor of intoxicants coming from the man’s breath, and the man’s eyes were bloodshot and glossy. He admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and performed SFST poorly. He gave a PBT of 0.12; consented to a legal blood draw; and was cited for OWI, third offense.
Items reported stolen from Fourth Street residence
A Marshfield woman reported that her boyfriend’s Xbox 360, 12 games, and a controller were stolen from their residence on the 600 block of E. Fourth St. some time between 11 a.m. and 2:38 p.m. The woman believed the man’s wife took the items.
An officer contacted the wife, who denied having any involvement in the incident. The Marshfield woman had no other possible suspects. Investigation will continue.
Marshfield man taken into custody for valid warrant
At 4:13 p.m. police took a 19-year-old Marshfield man into custody for a valid Wood County warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures. He was able to post bond and was released.
Saturday, July 22
Wallet reported stolen from vehicle on Hinman Avenue
A Marshfield woman reported that some time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on July 21 her wallet and its contents, including $5 cash, her Social Security card, a debit card, and her driver’s license, were stolen from her vehicle. The vehicle was parked in a driveway on the 200 block of N. Hinman Ave. with its windows down.
The woman canvassed the area but was unable to locate the wallet. Police advised her to cancel her debit card and contact the Social Security office. There are no suspects.
Police perform two warrant pickups
At 1:36 p.m. police took a 29-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 100 block of E. 17th St. for a valid Marshfield warrant. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail.
A man known to have a valid Wood County warrant was found found on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. and placed under arrest. He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and later released.
Sunday, July 23
Unconscious Wisconsin Rapids man revived with Narcan
Police responded at 2:28 a.m. to a report of an unconscious man in a vehicle in a parking lot on the 100 block of N. Central Ave. An officer arrived and found the man, a 26-year-old from Wisconsin Rapids, unresponsive and breathing slowly.
The officer administered a dose of Narcan, which had no immediate effect. Marshfield EMS arrived on the scene and administered two more doses of Narcan via an IV, to which the man responded. He was then transported to the Marshfield Medical Center via ambulance.
A K-9 sniff of the exterior of the man’s vehicle indicated to the presence of a controlled substance. Police searched the vehicle and removed drug paraphernalia along with a green, leafy substance that later field tested positive for THC.
Man arrested on valid warrant
Police arrested a 42-year-old Marshfield man at his residence for a valid Marshfield Police Department warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and released after the $894 bond was posted.
