Step back in time: July 23-29 in Hub City history

Ten years ago
Returning to central Wisconsin after serving an additional tour of duty in Iraq were five members of the 1st Battalion, 120th Field Artillery, Wisconsin National Guard. Happy to be home were Spcs. Beau Krostag and Daren Ratzloff, both of Marshfield; Sgt. Randy Lockman of Wisconsin Rapids; Sgt. Will Stuart of Stratford; and Sgt. Jacob Iwanski, formerly of Marshfield.
Twenty-five years ago
Joining the Marshfield Clinic recently were Drs. Edna DeVries and Steven Gilbert. DeVries was a pediatrician and Gilbert a pulmonary specialist.
Fifty years ago
Retailers in Marshfield were looking forward to 12 solid hours of shopping for customers in Marshfield on Wednesday as they would conduct their annual Mad Market Day. Goods were moved out of the stores and onto the sidewalks along Central Avenue for the big shopping day.
Seventy-five years ago
Six doctors represented the Marshfield Clinic recently at the meeting of the 9th Councilor District of the Wisconsin State Medical Society. The meeting was held in Wisconsin Rapids, and those attending from Marshfield were Drs. Lyman A. Copps, R.W. Mason, R.P. Potter, G.L. McCormick, Karl Doege, and W.G. Sexton.
