Marshfield girls swimming wins five events in loss at OHA

Alberts, Franks win two events each for Tigers

ONALASKA — Marshfield freshmen Kaitlin Alberts and Alyssa Franks each won a pair of events, but the Tigers came up short in its first dual meet of the season, losing 93-77 to Onalaska-Holmen-Aquinas in a nonconference girls swimming meet Thursday at the Onalaska YMCA.

Alberts won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.03 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.92, and Franks took first in the 200 freestyle (2:09.43) and the 500 freestyle (5:50.97) for four of the Tigers’ five victories.

Marshfield’s 400 freestyle relay team of Sophie Koehn, Elizabeth Lecker, Erika Roeglin, and Franks also finished first, winning the race in 4:13.64.

Koehn was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.14; Hope Risa finished second in the 200 individual medley in 2:37.83; and the 200 medley relay team of Koehn, Ariel Fernandez, Alberts, and Roeglin was also second in 2:07.48 for Marshfield.

The Tigers are off until Saturday, Sept. 9, when they compete at the Rhinelander Invitational, a meet Marshfield won last season.
