ALTOONA — The Spencer volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Altoona in the third-place match of the Cloverbelt Conference crossovers on Tuesday at Altoona High School.
The Railroaders won 25-18, 29-27, 25-9.
Leah Higgins topped Spencer with eight kills, Lexi Baehr had 17 digs, and Sadie Mercier had 15 digs and 20 assists for the Rockets.
“We played two solid games, but we lost momentum after some tough calls at the end of Game 2,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We stuck with a really good team, and I hope that gives us confidence going into the playoffs.”
Spencer will begin the WIAA postseason next week. Brackets will be announced later this week.
