A number of former local high school athletes have moved on to the next level and are playing collegiate sports across the country. Periodically, Hub City Times will publish a college sports roundup, updating readers of some of those athletes’ exploits.
Kundinger starting at UWSP
Kendra Kundinger, a 2014 graduate of Auburndale High School, is a senior on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women’s volleyball team.
Kundinger has played in all 26 matches this season as the Pointers’ libero. She leads the team with 546 digs, is second on the team with 25 service aces, and has 55 assists.
Kundinger had 53 digs in a pair of wins at the Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament at UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 6 as UWSP beat Martin Luther College and Augsburg University.
The Pointers, who are 20-6 overall and 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, host UW-Eau Claire for Senior Day on Saturday.
Voss fifth at Eau Claire
Rebecca Voss, who graduated from Marshfield High School in 2014, is a senior on the UW-La Crosse women’s cross country team.
Voss transferred to La Crosse in 2015 after a year at UW-Green Bay, and she is off to a great start with the Eagles this season.
Voss finished fifth at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Sept. 29 at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. She ran the 6,000-meter course in 22:15.7 to lead UW-La Crosse to a second-place finish.
Voss also took 15th at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 23. La Crosse was eighth out of 41 teams.
La Crosse hosts the Tori Neubauer Invitational on Saturday at Ettrick Golf Club.
Two Tigers playing at Northwestern
Marshfield High School graduates Jake Limmex (2015) and Luke McCann (2017) both start on the University of Northwestern (St. Paul, Minnesota) men’s soccer team.
Limmex and McCann have started all 12 games for Northwestern, an NCAA Division III school that competes in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
Limmex has scored one goal, and McCann has a goal and an assist as Northwestern is off to a 7-3-2 start and a 6-1-1 mark in the UMAC.
Northwestern hosted Minnesota-Morris on Wednesday.
