Man steals neighbor’s delivery
Police received a report that at 8:55 a.m. on Oct. 28 a Marshfield man stole a package delivered to another resident of his building on the 1400 block of W. Veterans Parkway. Video footage showed the man taking the package from the entryway, going into his room, and later throwing the box in the outside garbage can.
The intended recipient of the package later found the box when she was taking out her own trash. The package was filled with feminine hygiene products, one of which was missing.
Police spoke to the man, who admitted to stealing the package. He said he would see how he can make it right with the victim.
Marshfield man arrested twice for stalking
A Marshfield woman stated her ex-boyfriend, a 30-year-old from Marshfield, was in her apartment on the 500 block of E. 21st St. at 2:18 a.m. and refused to leave. Officers removed the man and told him to not return to the residence under any circumstances.
The man later returned but fled on foot from officers. Police later located the man again attempting to contact the woman at her apartment building. The man was taken into custody, charged with harassment, booked, released, and issued a stalking warning letter.
At 1:40 a.m. on Nov. 1, an officer observed the man outside the window of the woman’s residence. The officer made contact with the man, who said he was knocking on her window because he was fearful for her safety.
Police took the man into custody for stalking. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and later to Wood County Jail. Charges for stalking will be sent to the Wood County district attorney.
The woman reported at 6:31 a.m. on Nov. 5 that the man again was attempting to gain entry to her residence through her bedroom window. The woman had been granted a restraining order against the man.
The man left the apartment complex upon officer arrival, but police found him in an adjoining building hiding in a locked laundry room area. The man was taken into custody without incident, booked, and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Charges of stalking, violating a restraining order, felony bail jumping, and criminal damage to property were referred to the Wood County DA’s office.
Wednesday, Nov. 1
Bicycle stolen on Central Avenue
A Marshfield man reported that he locked his bicycle to a pole on the 100 block of N. Central Ave. around 4 p.m. When the man returned approximately two hours later, the bicycle and lock were gone.
The man did not observe anyone watching him lock up his bicycle and did not know who might have taken it. There are no suspects at this time.
Man taken into custody for domestic abuse
Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Central Ave. at 10:48 p.m. to check on the welfare of a 52-year-old Marshfield man who had been in a verbal altercation with his wife. After speaking to the man, officers checked the welfare of the wife and discovered that a physical altercation had occurred.
The man was taken into custody for disorderly conduct – domestic abuse and battery – domestic abuse.
Thursday, Nov. 2
Marshfield man with warrant arrested
At 8:48 a.m. police arrested a 21-year-old Marshfield man on the 900 block of N. Central Ave. for a valid Clark County warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures. He was then able to post bond and was released.
Four jailed on probation holds
Police responded at 7:49 p.m. to a report of possible drug activity occurring at a residence on the 200 block of S. Palmetto Ave. Two males, a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old, and a 20-year-old female, all of whom were on probation, were at the residence.
A consent search was conducted, and the woman and the 19-year-old man were found to be in possession of controlled substances. Probation holds were placed on all subjects, and they were transported to Wood County Jail.
In a separate incident, police took a 23-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 300 block of S. Peach Ave. for a probation hold. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were completed, and then to Wood County Jail.
Friday, Nov. 3
Marshfield police assist Portage County Sheriff’s Office
At 11:38 a.m. the Portage County Sheriff’s Office requested Marshfield Police Department assistance in obtaining a legal blood draw. A 32-year-old Wautoma woman had been brought to the Marshfield Medical Center after being injured in a vehicle collision in Portage County.
The legal blood draw was performed under exigent circumstances after the woman refused the blood draw. Results of the blood draw will be forwarded to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
Man arrested for Clark County warrant
Police arrested a 29-year-old man on the 100 block of E. Fifth St. for a Clark County warrant. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and later released after posting bond.
Saturday, Nov. 4
Two with warrants processed
At 2:55 p.m. police took a 27-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 800 block of E. Harrison St. for two valid warrants through the Pittsville Police Department. The woman was booked and then transported to Wood County Jail after being unable to post the required bond.
A 38-year-old Stratford man came into the Marshfield Police Department to turn himself in on two valid Wood County warrants and a body only DNA warrant. The man posted the required bond of $248 and was released after booking procedures were completed and a DNA sample was provided.
