Fundraising efforts started for children of crash victims

MARSHFIELD – Fundraising efforts have begun for the victims of a Clark County crash in the Town of Pine Valley on Dec. 15.
Two women died when 26-year-old Trenton Bemis, Humbird, was traveling west on State Highway 10 near Sydney Avenue, when he crossed the center line and collided with a car driven by 29-year-old Michelle Kunze, Neillsville. Kunze and her passenger – 35-year-old Genie Carillo of Neillsville—were pronounced dead at the scene.
All three were wearing their seatbelts. The Clark County Sheriff’s department says Bemis was operating his truck while intoxicated. Speed and road conditions were also factors in the crash.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the victims’ families. Kunze and Carillo leave behind a combined eight children. Kelsey Zachow says that she is looking to raise money to help with funeral arrangements and to help the children have a good Christmas. The kids are ranging in age from four to 17.
